Dr. (Mrs.) Funmilayo Oluwalana presenting a plaque to the Motivational Speaker, Engr. Abiodun Fijabi.
In five years’ time, what Universities are churning-out to the students may not be relevant to the society, unless they are channeled towards entrepreneurial skills.
This was the declaration of a Motivational Speaker, Engineer Abiodun Fijabi at the maiden exhibition of the Department of Business Enterprise Management and Entrepreneurial Studies, College of Management Sciences, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, held at the Julius Amioba Okojie Lecture Theater 3, on May 16, 2012.
Engineer Fijabi, who was the Guest Speaker at the exhibition said Universities should ensure that they include entrepreneurial courses in their curricula.
He, however, charged the students to be innovative and gather creative skills from entrepreneurs.
Corroborating him, another Guest Speaker, Mr. Olajide Osiberu said, “What we need in this country is transformation. So also, students should be trained to be self-reliant rather than looking for employment after completing their education”. He commended FUNAAB for introducing entrepreneurial courses in its curricula.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun, who said entrepreneurial courses will eventually be introduced in all Departments of the University, lauded the College for growing very fast, since its inception.
