Short moments after the conduct of the Post-UTME Examination of the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, the Management of the institution has formally released the results of the Computer Based Texting on its website.

According to the Chairman, Post-UTME Committee, Professor Chryss Onwuka, "candidates can now go online with their PIN, which they purchased earlier to access their results"

Speaking with UNAAB Bulletin in a telephone chat on Saturday, Prof Onwuka, who is UNAAB's Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academic, said the Post-UTME Committee did not rest on its oars after the completion of the examinations on Friday.

He stated that the Committee swung into action immediately after the completion and by early Saturday, the result was ready for candidates to access online.

Expatiating on the conduct of the examination, Professor Onwuka revealed that 21,713 candidates sat for it, out of “the 22,000 that had earlier  uploaded their results and bio-data on the net, for registration".

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, who described the examination as "hitch-free and successful" informed that a "mercenary" who impersonated a candidate with the intention of assisting him in writing the exam was exposed by the Biometric Data Verification System and was immediately arrested, adding humorously that "he's now writing his papers in police custody"

According to Professor Onwuka, the 2011 Post-UTME was unique as it witnessed the debut of Management Sciences in the University, stressing that over 7,000 candidates wrote the papers.

Besides, he added that unlike in the previous year where 8,301 candidates wrote the exam, the number of applicants increased astronomically to about 22,000 this year, declaring that "UNAAB has carved a niche as a University of choice".

On the mode of conduct of the examination, the DVC said the candidates were divided into 16 batches while eight holding areas were created for verification and clearance.

Meanwhile, many parents and candidates alike, marvelled at the rapid physical transformation recorded by the University over a short period of time, revealing that they were pleasantly jolted at the development.

Some of the respondents that spoke with UNAAB Bulletin, many of whom were first-time visitors unanimously agreed that they met more than they bargained for, praising the University Management for the commitment which they said was very evident, even in the conduct of  the  Post-UTME.

In his comment, the Oganla of Owu Kingdom, Chief B.A Akande said, ‘’you (VC) have added another mark to your wisdom. I wish Nigerians could come and watch the orderly manner by which the multitude of aspiring students go about their exams without any hitch’’.

Meanwhile, the parents of one of the Post-UTME Candidates, Dr. Peter Olonade has commended the aesthetic and serenity of the University Campus, as well as the enviable facilities therein.

Mr. Olonade also lauded the counselling programme that the University organised for parents of the Post-UTME Candidates during the examination.

He called on the management to sustain the good work and to transform the counselling programme to “Parents and Guardians forum”
