The Centre for Innovation and Strategy in Learning and Teaching (CISLT) was established by Senate at its 199th statutory meeting held on Friday, 4th April, 2014 to widen the scope of the then Webometrics Centre that was established at the third meeting of the Expanded Operations Management and Advisory Team (E-OMAT) on Monday 27th April 2009, the first of its kinds in the history of FUNAAB since inception. The Centre is operational under the Office of the Vice-Chancellor with the following objectives:
i. To provide systematic planning, monitoring and evaluation that would sustain and improve on the standard of teaching, learning, research and extension services in the University.
ii. To enable, promote and investigate the integration of learning technologies in teaching and learning.
iii.To promote, develop and evaluate pedagogically effective, innovative and transformative uses of ICT’s for teaching and learning in the University.
The Pioneer Director of the Centre was Prof. Olusegun Folorunso, a Professor of Computer Science, whose appointment took effect from 16th August, 2010 to 15th August, 2016. The Incumbent Director of the Centre is Prof. O. M. Arigbede, a Professor of Forage Science, whose appointment took effect from 20th February, 2017.
To encourage innovations in Learning and Teaching in the University in line with its vision to be a Centre of excellence in knowledge generation for global development and sustenance of an environmentally-friendly society. This is in addition to strengthening the quality of teaching, research and extension mandate of the University using Quality Assurance (QA) mechanisms and Learning Technologies (LT) that will enhance staff and students’ performances.
