Dr Olaifa Temitope holds a PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. She lectures at the Communication and General Studies Department, University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. She has several research articles in local and international peer-reviewed journals. She has carried out a good number of independent researches in the areas of child protection, privatisation of violence and gender issues. She currently coordinates the Peace and Strategic Studies and Security and Intelligence Studies programmes at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. She has supervised undergraduate projects and post-graduate dissertations in Communications, Peace and Conflict Studies, Criminology, and Security and Intelligence Studies. As an International Scholar, she works on the Scientific Committee, Parliamentarian University on Health, Population and Development, Dakar Senegal. In July 2017, she became a Fellow of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (FSPSP).
Tope Olaifa is a creative writer with published works on Drama (mainly on Child Abuse) and Poetry to her credit. She worked with female adolescents for 25 years in her teaching career. She organised training programmes suitable for their growth and development as co-curricular activities.
Apart from teaching and researching, Tope engages in issues of Social and Environmental Justice, Peace and Conflict issues, Anti-Corruption, Gender and Governance through advocacy in fulfilment of her tripartite mandate as a lecturer. She also monitored Early Warning Signs of violence, Tranhumance, Road Accidents and other humanitarian threats in Ogun State, Nigeria between 2009 and 2014 for WANEP Nigeria. She is also a training consultant for ActionAid, PRAWA, WANEP and UNDP on Peace and Security issues.
She is married to Olaifa Oluwabusayomi. They are blessed with wonderful children.
