Professor Bolanle Akeredolu-Ale has over 30 years’ experience of working as a Communication practitioner and researcher. She teaches at the Federal University of Agriculture (FUNAAB), Abeokuta, Ogun State and has served the University in various capacities. Professor Akeredolu-Ale recently completed her tenure as the Dean, College of Agricultural Management and Rural Development (COLAMRUD), FUNAAB, Nigeria. As the Dean, COLAMRUD, she also served as the Chairperson, Committee of Deans and Directors of the University and had acted for the Vice-Chancellor on numerous occasions. She served twice as the Head of Department of Communication and General Studies. She was one of the Editors, FUNAAB Journals, and currently one of the two University Orators. She was the Immediate Past Chairperson of the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ (FUNAAB Chapter) Multipurpose Cooperative.
She has also served as an external examiner and assessor to numerous universities in Nigeria and outside the country. She belongs to different professional and social bodies both locally and internationally. Some of these are:

Professor Akeredolu-Ale has been involved in the Communication Skills Project for Universities of Agriculture and Technology in Nigeria since 1990; a project sponsored by the Overseas Development Administration of the British Council and the National Universities Commission (NUC) of Nigeria. Under this project, she had the opportunity of taking a master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) at the University of Birmingham, UK. She has also been actively involved in the Gender Mainstreaming Project at FUNAAB which has culminated in the formation of the Gender Policy Framework at the University. She is a member and resource person for the Nigerian Association of University Women (NAUW) (FUNAAB Chapter).
Professor Bolanle Akeredolu-Ale is highly skilled in information and educational technologies and has demonstrable experience in her championing and pioneering the e-learning project at FUNAAB. She is a member of eLearning Africa and has attended numerous international conferences organized by this body. She also had the opportunity to participate at the DAAD 2017/2018 DIES-International Deans’ Course Africa which took her to the University of Applied Sciences in Osnabruck (Germany), Free University of Berlin (Germany), Makarere University in Uganda and Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. The Course on Higher Education Management has been of tremendous benefit to her service as a Dean and mentor to many staff looking up to her.
Professor Akeredolu-Ale has been a member of the Innovation in Language Learning International Conference, Florence, Italy since 2014. She has also been an active participant at a number of the improving teaching and learning in higher education conferences organised by Teaching Professor Conference Magna Publications, USA. She has attended series of literacy and leadership seminars and conferences in South African Universities, notably at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and University of Cape Town. And recently, she was invited to the Schlumberger Foundation Outreach Pilot meeting in Nigeria and has since been a member of the FUNAAB group on Women in STEM.
She has published numerous newspaper and magazine articles, educational and research papers, technical reports and supervised quite a number of undergraduate and postgraduate (MSc and PhD) students.
Apart from academics and higher education administration, she has great passion for grooming young women for the future and has worked corporately and personally towards encouraging young girls to achieve their hidden potentials. She has contributed immensely to radio and television programmes, civil meetings and seminars focused on women empowerment, children protection and girl-child education. Her extra-curricular activities include reading, traveling and watching movies. She is blessed with an adorable young woman.
