The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun has assured the entire members of the University Community that “their cups will be filled and overflow with milk and honey (goodies), this year”.

Professor  Balogun gave the assurance, even as he charged members of the University Community to join hands with him in building an enduring legacy for the University.

Addressing scores of staff and students of the University on the first Working Day of the year, at a Joint Prayer Session, held at Julius Okojie Lecture Theatre Complex, he told them to expect more goodies from his administration, this year.

Recalling that his theme for last year was “Double Portion”, the Vice-Chancellor thanked God that truly, the University enjoyed multiple blessings of God last year.

He disclosed that his theme for the University this year, as captured in the Book of Psalm, Chapter 23 Verse 5 is, “Our cup will overflow this year”.

Expatiating on the theme, Prof. Balogun said the cup of individual staff, students and the University at large will overflow with landmark progress, peace and tranquility.

He however admonished members of the University Community to join him in building an enduring legacy like the biblical Nehemiah who rebuilt the broken walls of Jerusalem and not like Sanbalat and Tobiah, the destroyers.

The Vice-Chancellor assured that he would remain focused and not distracted because “he who put his hand on the plough should not look back”.

Special prayers led by clerics in the University were offered for peace, progress and protection of the Governing Council, Management, Staff, Students and the entire University Community.
