Continuous Research Work on Cotton and Kenaf

1. Studies on the biology and control of Coniella leaf spot of kenaf induced by C. musaiaensis (completed Ph. D. thesis submitted to Dept. of Crop Protection (1991)

2.  Effect of different sources  of N on the incidence and severity of Coniella leaf spot of kenaf

3. Studies on the seed-borne and other diseases of kenaf

4. Effect of seed dressing chemicals on the bacterial blight of cotton

(1) Germplasm screening and identification of diseases of Acha (Digitaria exilis) Biology and control of diseases of Acha (Digitaria exilis) in the Nigerian savanna.

 

Wheat

1. Survey for documentation of incidence and severity of major diseases of bread wheat in the savannas of Nigeria

2. Studies on the biology and control of major diseases of irrigated and rainfed wheat in the Nigerian savannas.

 

Millet (with Miss A. Bawa)

1. Biology and control of pearl millet diseases in Nigeria.

2. Screening and Selection of West African Cultivars of millet for resistance to downy mildew pathogen (an IAR/ICRISAT project).

1. Screening long staple cotton cultivars for their performance under the high rainforest zone of Nigeria 1999 – date.

2. Studies on the pests and diseases of improved cowpea in the derived savanna of South West Nigeria.

3. Screening improved sorghum varieties for adaptation to derived savanna ecology of Oyo State (On-Farm Adaptive Research).

4. Control of diseases of roselle, Hibiscus sabdoriffa L in Alabata.
