FUNAAB Acquires Modern Security Gadgets

To improve on the existing facilities in protecting lives and property on campus, the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has acquired additional state-of-the-art security gadgets.
Speaking in an interview with FUNAAB Bulletin in his office, the University’s Assistant Chief Environmental Officer, Mr. Sunday Bolarinwa, disclosed that the newly procured security gadgets were necessitated by the need to reinforce the security system on campus.

According to him, the new security gadgets include Access Control Electronic Device; Walk-Through Metal Detectors; Under-Vehicle Metal Detectors and Closed-Circuit Televisions, installed in sensitive areas of the University.
He said: “Aside the strengthening of the security in the University Community, the security gadgets also adds beauty and sophistication to the University environment”.
On health hazards, that the security gadgets may likely cause, he said there was no cause for anxiety. “If the health hazard is much, they would have been condemned, because I asked the supplier and he confirmed that the machines do not possess any health risk”, he added.
Commenting on the cases of insecurity in the country and whether FUNAAB is at risk, the ex-Police Officer gave an emphatic ‘NO’ because pro-active measures were being taken to avoid security breaches.
Mr. Bolanrinwa, however, implored members of the University Community to continue to co-operate with security officers for routine checks of vehicles on campus.
He commended the efforts of the security officers for being alive to their responsibilities.
