• Managing both the human resources and material resources in the laboratories.

• Carrying out bi-annual check and maintenance of laboratory equipments.

•Reorganizing the stores and laboratories of the department after the creation of the Microbiology Department.

• Preparation of materials for 100L-400L and post graduate students practical classes.

• Giving technical assistance to academic staff on research work.

• Inventory taking of equipment, chemicals and glass ware on a regular basis.

• Managing human resources (Laboratory Assistants) and students during practical classes.

• Carrying out maintenance of laboratory equipments and other infrastructural facilities

Duties and Responsibilities as a Laboratory Assistant

• Daily cleaning of the Laboratories work benches and stools.

• Bi-monthly periodical dusting of all equipments in the laboratories.

• Attending to final year students on project at Technologist’s instructions.

• Carrying out general cleaning of all the laboratories and the lockers therein.

• Obtaining biological materials for practical classes.

• Clearing up of practical materials after use.

• Washing of used glass wares.

Duties and Responsibilities as a Corper Scientist

• Carrying out routine analysis of medical samples e.g. stools, urine, blood and MCS.

• Taking records in the meteorological garden.

• Carrying out routine medical analysis of sample e.g. pregnancy test, widal test, ESR, PCV, Blood grouping e.t.c.
