IJMB Accreditation Team Visits INHURD

An accreditation team from the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB), has carried out a full resource inspection visit to the University’s Institute of Human Resources Development (INHURD), as part of its regulatory activities for the IJMB programme. Speaking at the event, the leader of the team, Professor Adebayo Oyewale, charged the tutors to teach the students very well so as “to surpass him”. According to him, the visitation has initiated an interaction between the team, the students and the tutors. On the forthcoming examinations, Professor Oyewale said the date had been shifted to January 2015, due to the upcoming general elections in the country. He added that IJMB students often graduate with nothing less than Second Class, Upper Division (2.1) when admitted into the University because the programme usually prepared them for excellence. He, however, reeled out the names of past students of the IJMB programme to include the Director of INHURD, Professor Francis Showemimo; the Vice-President of Nigeria, Architect Namadi Sambo former Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the current Emir of Kano, Alhaji Lamido Sanusi, among other dignitaries.

Earlier, Professor Showemimo recalled the Institute’s metamorphosis from UNAAB Consult to CENHURD and then, INHURD. He added that the main objective of the Institute was to ensure that learning takes place, noting that the Institute was sitting on over 15 acres of land that was conducive for learning.

He stated that the functional analogy of the Institute could be related to a bus where it would be off-loaded yearly and which there should be a lasting impression on them. He added that the Institute had 75 IJMB students, 33 science and 37 management students, among others
