Short Profile

I obtained my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degree in 2009, finishing in the top four of the class with Distinctions in Veterinary Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology. I obtained my Master’s of Veterinary Science (M.VSc) degree in Veterinary Parasitology in 2012 with a dissertation on ‘Cryptosporidiosis in cattle in Ogun State, Nigeria’. In 2020, I completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Veterinary Parasitology with a thesis on ‘Prevalence and molecular characterization of Giardia duodenalis infecting sheep, goats and pigs in Ogun State, Nigeria’.

I joined the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State in 2011 as a Lecturer II in the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Parasitology and was promoted to the rank of Lecturer I in 2015. I became a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Parasitology and Entomology in 2021. Since joining the institution, I have actively taught undergraduate veterinary medical students three courses in veterinary parasitology, namely, veterinary helminthology, protozoology and entomology. I also teach clinical parasitology to clinical year students of the college.

Since joining the institution, I worked as a registrar at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in the diagnostic parasitology unit.

My research focuses on emerging zoonotic diseases of various animals. In these studies, I employ molecular techniques in detection and understanding the epidemiology of these diseases. I have lead some epidemiological surveys of parasitic diseases in various domestic and wild animals and have been a member of various research teams that studied various parasites in domestic, livestock and wild animals.
