Short Profile

Engr. Ben ANYANWU is currently a Lecturer with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta. He is a native of Asaba in Delta State, Nigeria. He holds a B.Eng Degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria and an M.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Materials Technology Option) from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. He is currently a Doctoral Student of Mechanical Engineering (Materials Technology Option) at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.

Ben Anyanwu is a Registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and a Corporate Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE). He is also a Professional Member of the Materials Society of Nigeria (MMSN) and the International Association of Engineers, among others.

He was among the team of Engineers for Sykes EnergiProjekts Ltd, Ikeja, Lagos, that designed and constructed the 264,000m3 Capacity Oil Depot for Masters Energy Ltd, Akar Base, Portharcourt; 63,000m3 Capacity Oil Depot for Ibafon Oil, Epz Free Trade Zone, Calabar and the 63,000m3 Capacity Oil Depot for Matrix Energy, Ubeji, Warri. He joined the services of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, in July 2010.

His research interests are in the area of mechanics of non-metallic and metallic materials. It focuses on enhancement or improvement of materials employed in construction / structural and automobile applications, ceramic and glass technology. Minor areas of interest are in cutting fluids formulations and machining, lubrication oils for friction and wear reduction in machine parts, briquette production etc.
