Oluseye O. Onabanjo is a Professor of Community Nutrition at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria. He received an M.Sc and Ph.D degrees in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria, in 2001 and 2006, respectively.

Dr. Onabanjo received a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the South African National Research Council to conduct research at the Centre of Excellence for Nutrition, North West University Potchefstroom Campus, South
Africa between 2009 and 2010. The scope of Onabanjo’s research spans molecular, biochemical, clinical studies and epidemiology. His research focus on factors affecting the nutritional status and health of Nigerian mothers and children, role of micronutrients in early childhood development and immune function. The focus is not only on undernutrition and morbidity, but also on the possible link between maternal malnutrition and risk of non-communicable diseases in their offspring. His research also focuses on assessing dietary intake and nutritional status of pregnant women, and determining associations with birth outcomes, maternal and child health.
He is experienced in both quantitative and qualitative research methodology, market research, dietary and behavioural research, and field work in many states in Nigeria.
He has been involved with several international and national organisations concerned with nutrition of the vulnerable groups. He is a results-driven and analytical professional with 18+ years of experience leading research innovation and success across National, Regional and International projects in the area of Nutrition
and Public Health. Proven record of excellence in scientific endeavours, with a history of high impact publications. He has been author and co-author of over 60 papers published in peer reviewed journals and written and edited some textbooks and is a reviewer of manuscripts for several reputable journals. He is a member of Nutrition Society of Nigeria, African Society of Nutrition, American Nutrition Society, African Graduate Nutrition Network and African Nutrition Leadership Programme. He has mentored and supervised ten doctoral students and several master's students in human nutrition and dietetics.
