Twenty-three hardworking staff and students spread across different Departments and Units were appreciated during the just-concluded 21st and 22nd Convocation Ceremonies.

The Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB and Chairman of the Occasion, Professor Nurudeen Adedipe, remarked that he was always happy whenever he came to FUNAAB, noting that God Almighty deserved the glory for the rapid human and infrastructural development witnessed by the University.

The erudite scholar advised that any position in the University should not be a family or personal affair. Re-counting his experience when he came alone to FUNAAB from the University of Ibadan (UI), without his Secretary and other aides accompanying him, he said “if you cannot work with anybody, then you can work with nobody”. He lauded the Management for the many innovations in the University, testifying that the transformation in FUNAAB was “a gradual process but certainly a recordable development. You don’t know how esteemed this University is until you travel abroad”. Professor Adedipe said the conferment of awards to outstanding members of the University community was good.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Oyewole, charged the recipients not to relent in their efforts at raising the bar of excellence in the University, adding that they should strive at all times, to sustain and surpass the high standards. He added that the award should spur the recipients to greater responsibilities, as he admonished other staff to emulate the awardees.

Present at the occasion was the former Acting Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB, Professor Ishola Adamson and his wife, Principal Officers, Deans, Directors, Heads of Units and Departments, as well as other members of the University community.
