A Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, Professor Adewale Dipeolu has been elected as Dean, College of Agricultural Management and Rural Development (COLAMRUD). The election of Professor Dipeolu was held at the COLAMRUD’s College Board Meeting held on October 23, 2017.

Delivering his acceptance speech, the incoming Dean, Professor Dipeolu who was before the election, Director, Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (CENTS), appreciated all members of staff of the College present, and promised not to fail them for the trust they have in him.

According to him, “I will be a servant leader, and operate an open door policy”. He further added that he will dedicate his tenure to developing the College, especially by expanding the structure on ground, as the current building is getting smaller to house the Staff and students of the College.

He however appealed to those that do not have the trust in his leadership to see the good side of him and forgive him of any wrong doing he must have done in the past.

Earlier, the outgoing Dean, Professor (Mrs.) Bolanle Akeredolu-Ale appreciated all members of staff of the College for their various roles during her tenure as the College Dean. She revealed that the need to step down became imperative as she is due to proceed on sabbatical leave in November.

Professor Akeredolu-Ale however charged them to support the incoming Dean, so that the College would experience further development.

After the election, various responses were taken while Professor Dipeolu was congratulated, and charged to make the welfare of the College staff paramount, especially during their promotion, bringing the College to the fore-front among other Colleges in the University by upgrading it structural facilities.

Present at the Board Meeting were Professors from the College and other academic staff, representatives of the Ogun State Agricultural Development Programme (OGADEP); Ogun State Farmers Association and Obasanjo Farms.
