The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and Galilee Management Institute, Israel are fine-tuning arrangements to develop joint programmes.
The President of GMI, Dr. Joseph Shevel disclosed this in a chat with FUNAAB Bulletin after his courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole.
Dr. Shevel who was accompanied by two other staff of GMI revealed that under the proposed collaboration, some Senior Academic Staff of the University will be sent to the Institute in Isreal to Lecture for a period.
According to him, “We came here because we want to develop new programmes.
Through this programme, we will start sending some of the Professors to our Institute to teach. This is the type of collaboration we are looking at and it will help many”.
Speaking further on the programme, Dr. Shevel stated that “in the next few weeks or days, the Council of the University is coming to the Galilee. While there, we will sit down and design the programme”.
Receiving Dr. Shevel and his team earlier, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oyewole lauded the cordial relationship between the University and the Institute, which he said has been waxing stronger.
He, therefore, appealed to the Institute, to in the interest of the relationship give the University concession in the areas of tuition fee and sponsorship of staff to GMI for training.
