The Works and Services Department was established at the inception of the University and charged with the planning, design, organization and implementation of maintenance and rehabilitation works as related to civil, mechanical and electrical facilities in the University.
Rehabilitation projects are carried out either by contract or direct labour. The Department is responsible for the preparation of all necessary documents on rehabilitation projects to be carried out by contract, recommend contractors and supervise their works. The Department is also involved in the operation of facilities for the supply of essential services.
For the day-to-day administration, it is sub-divided into four main units and the office of the Director.
The Director coordinates the Units and is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day activities of the Department.
